Join me on my Dukan Diet journey

So it’s been about two months since I have started the Dukan Diet……in the first two weeks I lost about 8 pounds….then once I added vegetable it was much more difficult to lose the weight….I get up every morning at 5:30 and go for a walk or bike ride with my son for about 45 minutes to one hour. We usually do about 4-5k walk and 8-9k bike ride in that time. I’m extremely proud of him….at 14 yrs old he gets up with me every morning and off we go. We have been doing the walks and bike rides for about 2 weeks.

In that time I have been a little more relaxed in my dukan diet, as I find it really hard to follow someday. I have tried adding a new product to my diet…..

A friend of mine is using Bios Life Slim and has lost 10 pounds in one month, still eating all the food that she wants…..and here I am eating only protein and vegetables and I lost the same amount of weight as she did…… so I did what you all would do….I purchased a box of Bios Life Slim. I’ve been taking it for two weeks before breakfast, lunch and dinner and I have lost 5 pounds.

I’m at a total of 16 pounds lost and gone for ever! This morning was amazing for me…I got on the scale and saw 229.6 pounds on the scale….I started at 245.8  just 2 months ago.  The difference in the last few weeks has been that I have the Bios Life Slim and when I go to eat whether it be a wrap, baked potatoes or chicken…I am not as hungry as I was 15 minutes before ….and I dont eat as much….I am fuller longer and i’m not grumpy that I am on a diet.

Now I dont want to take away from the Dukan Diet, cause I think it really works, but I have a growing household, with a 12 and 14 year old and they require a balanced diet at this stage of life… was really hard to make so much protein and little starch and not be able to have it.

Now I can order a pizza on Friday and have 1-2 slices and I’m full…..while the kids are happy, my husband is supportive and we still eat quiet healthy. Dukan taught me to lessen the starch side of the meal…..which being European you know it’s starch with starch and a bit of protein. 🙂

Not your ordinary Pancake!!!

I’ve been struggling with breakfast for a while…. Trying to get my protein in and still enjoy something like bread.

Here’s my solution…. The Dukan pancake thing for breakfast is nasty! I can’t stomach it….so I adapted it to the following and now it’s amazing.

2 tsp oat bran
1 tsp corn flour
1 egg
2 tbsp plain yogurt (Greek works best)

I make the “pancakes” smaller and I can get about 3 out of this batch.

Now every morning breakfast is 3 pancakes, 1 fruit flavored yogurt, 1 tbsp fat free/sugar free whip cream for the pancake and low fat/ no sugar strawberry jam I purchased at Zarky’s, a cup of coffee and I am a happy camper!

Dukan Pizza

All I can say is oh my God! This pizza was amazing! If you like thin crust pizza, then this is for you! I was so excited that I had to post this right away.
The recipe is easy to follow I’m thinking that you could also make the pizza base and use it as a pita bread for something a little different…. Since it can get boring unless you use your imagination.

Here’s how it all came together!

1 teaspoon – Baking powder

1 teaspoon (grated) – Cheese

Basil chopped

Smoked salmon

1 tablespoon – Corn flour

2 Egg

2 tablespoons – Oat bran

1tablespoon – plain yogurt

Small amount of pesto sauce for base

Put the eggs, yogurt, oat bran, cornflour, baking powder and spices into a bowl for mixing.

Mix all the ingredients in the bowl and pour it out onto the pan.

When the bottom is done, and the top still a bit liquid on top, put a bit of pesto on top with tomatoes cut into pieces, sprinkle with grated cheese.

Then move the pizza from the pan to the oven All of that needs to be put under a grill and just watch it get nice and brown on top.

It will be amazing and taste like thin crust pizza!


Ana’s Fish Stew

Ok, here is one of my favorite dishes that take almost no time to cook!

Really easy!

Here is what you will need

4 peices of Basa Fish

1 can of tomatoes

1-2 cubes of  low-sodium fish broth

1 bag of scallops

1 bag of shrimp

1 large onion

Salt and Pepper to taste (make sure you put this close to the end as the broth may have enough salt in it)

Now you stir fry onion and garlic with a little fish broth.

Add the all the ingredients once the onions are clear. Add basa fish, shrimp and scallops.
Cover and let cook over medium heat, there will be a lot of water coming out of the fish, shrimp and scallops if you used forzen. Dont worry, uncover for the last 10 minutes and most of the water will evaporate.

The left over is a great broth. Add parsley or chives for colour and taste and VOILA!

Sunday morning Frittata!

Our routine at home is 1/1 we alternate P and P/V but Sunday and Monday are both P days, since we try to keep the days of the week the same. We have an active soccer family and we want to make sure that on game night and practice night we are able to have PV since we end up going to diner on Tuesdays and making a good meal on Thursday’s. If we have PV on Tuesday’s then the menu dilemma is much easier…. order side veggies and regular chicken with no sauce with a diet coke!…..Well all this to tell you that every Sunday I make a great break fast of  Bacon, Frittata, yogurt and Dukan bread with Coffee….I look forward to Sunday morning!

There is no trick to the Frittat! I usually use what I have left in the fridge if I havent made it to the store:


Egg whites

Green onions

Cottage cheese

Regular low fat cheese (what ever is in the fridge)

mix it all up and add some no-fat hot dogs from Schneider, bake in the oven for about 20 minutes and you have a light fluffy Frittata!

Lemon meringue pie

Method : 10 minutes
Cooking time : 20 minutes
Resting time : 2 hours
Dukan Phase : Cruise PP/PL


8 people.

For dough : 10 tbsp oat Bran – 5tbsp wheat bran – 3 tbsp cornflour – 2 tbsp sweetener powder – 4 tbsp skimmed milk – 4 tbsp water – 10 dropts melted butter flavouring – 2 tbsp de cheese strainer 0%

For confectioner’s custard : 1 lime – 3 eggs – 2 tbsp liquid sweetener – 2 tbsp cornflour – 30 cl skimmed milk – 1 tbsp lemon meringue pie flavouring – 2 gelatine sheets


For Dough

Mix up the 10 tbsp of Oat Bran with 5 tbsp of Wheat Bran. Put the oats mix together with 3 tbsp of Maizena flour (tolerated food) and 2 tbsp of your favorite sweetener in a bowl.

Add 4 tbsp of skimmed milk, 4 tbsp of water and 10 drops of butter flavoring. Mix it up. Add an egg, 2 tbsp of fat-free cheese strainer and toss it all until your dough gets a homogeneous consistency.

Put the dough along a cake pan. Cook it up in the oven (180°) for 15 minutes.

For Custard

Grate a lime and keep the zest for later, trying to avoid the white part of it. Squeeze it and mix the lime juice with the zests with 3 eggs in a saucepan.

Add 2 tbsp of liquid sweetener, 2 full tbsp of Maizena (tolerated food) and whisk it all.

Pour 30 cl. (about 1 teacup) of skimmed milk and 1 tbsp of lemon meringue pie flavouring.

Bring it gradually to boiling, incessantly stirring it with a wood spoon.

Take it out from heat at first bubble; add 2 sheets of gelatin drained (softened for 5 minutes in cold water beforehand) and let it cool down.

Taste it to readjust its sweatiness according to personal taste.

To end this marvelous lemon Meringue pie

Pour the custard on the already cooked pie, decorating it with some lime zests if you feel like. Then let it get cold inside the fridge during a couple of hours. After that it is all yours!

The chocolate cake trial!

No matter how much I want chocolate cake….no amount of desire is going to make it appear and be Dukan legal. Needless to say I still haven’t perfected this chocolate cake recipe.

I played with a regular bread/cake recipe and I’m trying to make it work…. Looks like I have to keep trying… Not sweet enough-it was more of a chocolate pound bread.
